That $1 ferryfee way back in 1805 would have been so expensive, although I just put that through an inflation calculator and it says that the equivalent in 2016 would have been $20.51, so maybe not so bad. I'm sure there are ferries now that would cost that much.<br />Anne@ArtyGreen in Paradise https://www.blogger.com/profile/09611134831811637266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8791768581127769171.post-65696444944388136542019-07-17T19:31:59.130-07:002019-07-17T19:31:59.130-07:00That old tobacco barn reminds me of the one my mom...That old tobacco barn reminds me of the one my mom talked about when her Dad and Mom raised tobacco in Chase City Va.Betsyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12285774814387516190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8791768581127769171.post-85660771831448445432019-07-17T18:11:19.818-07:002019-07-17T18:11:19.818-07:00Dear Cynthia, I so enjoy your posting when you sha...Dear Cynthia, I so enjoy your posting when you share history with us. I've learned so much from your blog. Your writing reminds me of another blogger I so enjoy who goes by the name Vagabonde. Born in France, she now lives in the southern USA and like you she always provides background for whatever she is writing about. She also collect vintage postcards and they reveal so much history. Thanks, Cynthia, for your curiosity and for sharing your findings with us. Peace.
