Not much of this business here in "OZ". It was actually last night here and no little "funnies" were to be seen. However I did see my first plover chick with the two doting and ferocious protective parents...........those three outside your place are far more scary than kids dressed as witches. Hope your dog recovers from the onslaught. Cheers Colin
well thank you David. I have noticed that you are a bird enthusiast/watcher.
Unfortunately the plover chick is no more. We here in the Village suspect that a kookaburra got it. Sure must have been fast to beat the two parents of the little chick! Nature can be what we think is cruel at times. I was so looking forward to watching this little plover grow up. Colin
We seem to get fewer kids each year. The neighbourhood has grown up and we are mostly retired folks here. There are a few families with small children, but “few” is the operative word.
We started out alone a mile from town then we became a suburb with lots of young families and kids. Now its just us old folks. I miss the tricks and treaters....:)
Looking good. We don't normally do anything for Halloween, but Katie (17) had a Halloween party to celebrate the end of school. I made her a witch decoration, which I might pop on my blog.
I will be ready though we get few Trick or Treaters.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween to you too, hope you have a wonderful evening.
ReplyDeleteOoooh! Scary! Happy Halloween! Bet you get lots of Trick or Treaters. Wish we did.
ReplyDeleteYou look well prepared. Enjoy your evening.

Looks like the northern hemisphere Sand Pipers???
Plovers are plovers and sandpipers (one word) are sandpipers. They all belong to the order Charadriformes, however. They are allied species.
