Along a Country Road - My World Today

"Earth laughs in flowers. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson"

What a beautiful summer it has been!  Enroute to mundane errands, I had to stop and photograph the flowers along the roadsides.  They are just so lovely this year.

I picked some to enjoy at home.  I don't think anyone will miss a few.

  7. I do like that low angle shot of the grass and sky - its a different way of seeing.

I had a look through some of your other posts - I used to live near Wells in the UK and the idea that huge cathedrals could be build with little more than human arms and brute force always struck me as remarkable.

  13. Flowers always make me happy! I see the Eiffel Tower in the background of your "About Me" section. My son just came back from a week being there. Did you post some pics about Paris?

    1. I have two past posts on my March trip to Paris. I took 28 students to London and Paris for 9 days, and we had a wonderful time. I hope your son did, as well.

  15. I'm in Madison, WI, and we have the most gorgeous wildflowers, as well as grasses that cover the fields. Sometimes, there's a sea of green Pye grass and ironweed, and then, in the center, that little speck of purple that reminds me of the specks in van Gogh's "Water Lilies."

Thanks for coming to my blog and commenting. I'll be back! Amy

  16. I'd rather have that wildflower bouquet than a dozen roses from the florist! Lovely views too...thanks for sharing.

  19. I agree with you that it has been a beautiful summer. I noticed that the wild "cup plants" in the field are twice as tall as they usually are.
