Thanksgiving Reflection

These days Thanksgiving often gets lumped into the mix with the next two big events of the year, Christmas and New Years, and collectively known as The Holidays.

As in, ‘What are you doing for The Holidays?’ or  ‘Do you have your Holiday Shopping done?’.

Whoever had the foresight to stick Thanksgiving on the calendar where it is was brilliant!

At the gateway to what can seem ‘the most stressful time of year’ — the weeks leading up to the Big Two — we get Thanksgiving Day, a day to remind us to be grateful for the many gifts and blessings of the other 11 months of year.

Wherever you are, formal holiday or not,
a day focused on gratitude
is a good thing to observe.

I want to tell you all that, today and every day I am grateful to you, my blogging friends, for reading my words, for sharing your thoughts and lives with me over the last nine years!

Happy
Thanksgiving!

  1. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Cynthia. I hope that your annual feast cooks to perfection and that you enjoy the company of family and friends. I just read a piece that cautions everyone not to talk about politics!

  2. In the UK we seem to have imported the worst aspects of the beginning of the Holidays - no Thanksgiving, too much Black Friday! I hope you all have a pleasant Thanksgiving.

  5. Happy Thanksgiving Cynthia. Hope you enjoy the day with your mom and they serve you a delicious meal. Just caught up with your last two posts. I love that green snake! That is the longest one I have ever seen. I am cooking the usual...turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, broccoli casserole, sweet potato casserole, and pie...haven't decided on the pie yet. :)

  10. Gorgeous gardenias, Cynthia. I hope you had a wonderful celebration. But wow! Once Thanksgiving hits, I feel like we're at the starting gate of trying to get everything done.

  11. We had a wonderfully thankful Thanksgiving despite the fears of Covid! That dreaded virus kept us apart last year but we gathered as a family this year for the first time in a very long time. Hope yours went well too with your Mom.
