Lost: One Hour. Found: Signs of Spring.

Except for that lost hour of sleep, it's been a pretty nice weekend here.  Most exciting is, the snow is beginning to melt and the birds are beginning to sing. Also my potted hyacinth burst into bloom, scenting the whole house, my garden seeds arrived in the mail, and look what I found at a used book sale.  1,000 Place To See Before You Die for dreaming, and Let's Travel Minnesota for being a little more practical and likely to happen.

  4. Well I love daylight saving time, for us at the end of the month the clock turns back.
Was wondering have you ever grown a Hyacinth in a vase with water? They do smell lovely and spring must be near for you.

    1. I've never grown a hyacinth in water. Does the bulb have to be chilled first? This one was planted in a too shallow pot and can't hold its head up on its own. Hence the chopstick!

  6. What a cheery post! And it made me smile because I did something similar with books at a thrift shop. Mine book for dreaming was travel book for Luxembourg. My son-in-law gave me a Minnesota book. long time ago and I have used it for staying close to home. It's called Weird Minnesota. It's a travel guide to Minnesota's best kept secrets. Love your hyacinth! I don't get seed catalogs because I live in a townhouse, but GN and I are off to the garden store today for seeds to start indoors.
