I am smitten with The Salt Life!
I need to get a shirt.
Oops! Maybe not that one!
This one?
Perhaps a window cling for the car?
Anyway, I admit my obsession and apologize in advance for MORE pictures of the sea.

We've had another tropical storm yesterday and we chose Huntington Beach State Park, about 25 minutes up the coast, for our morning beach walk.

"Our memories of the ocean will linger on, long after our footprints in the sand are gone." Anonymous
Last night we were returning home from a history lecture. The full moon was playing peekaboo with the clouds, we were going right past the turnoff to the beach. We had to stop. The second visit in one day!
We heard the boom of the surf before we even got out of the car.
The waves were wild and loud and pounding right up to the dunes. The brilliant light reflected in the roiling water was like a million twinkling stars.
We were mesmerized.
"When anxious, uneasy and bad thoughts come, I go to the sea,
and the sea drowns them out with its great wide sounds, cleanses me with its noise,
and imposes a rhythm upon everything in me that is bewildered and confused."
— Rainer Maria Rilke
Stunning seascapes. I envy your closeness to the sea.
ReplyDeleteLiving near the sea is a treat. I particularly love the moody skies, and the last pic is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteGreat photography of the evening storm over the beach.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Paul would like the first T-Shirt, could wear it for
golf - maybe distraction for his opponents?????
Especially on the putting greens - wiggle within the sights
of the opponent just as he is about to strike his putt.
I don't think that constitutes cheating, do you?
Would just reflect that the putter person was more interested
in T-Shirts wiggling around than the little white ball and the
hole - ha ha.
Cheers
Colin
I love the pounding of the surf...I think it is noisier on the west coast...I love hearing only the surf:)
ReplyDeleteStunning photos! Lovely. Better than ironing. (thinking of your previous post)
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful photos, I live right by the sea and love to stroll and watch the waves, whatever the season.
ReplyDeleteThere are some heavy storms overthere at your place. Amazing pictures of the skies.

ReplyDeleteOh c'mon Cynthisa I'm sure your new hubby would declare you are the catch of the day!!! Wear it with pride, it's the sort of T-shirt we should all have to do the vacuuming in! :) Your tropical storm Julia looks one moody interesting wet and wild event - great photos.

What a beautiful post! I did get to see some of that same beauty in the clouds, and the full moon, and rough seas while we were at the Outer Banks. If only I could write a good post like you. Andee and I looked at hundreds of tee shirts, but never bought one. Cynthia, I am still laughing about your comment to my saving the little mouse post...the giant showing up with the jaws of life. :)
