Spoonbills

Colors of November

Where water meets land between
Dawn and day,
Six spoonbills feed,
Interpreting the day's palette
Of frosty grays,
Offering meaning to the tone:
Shocking Pink.

  3. Wonderful birds with special beaks. We call them " lepelaars" in Dutch.

  4. Almost like those magnificent flamingos.
    The beaks look like paddles!

  7. Splendid photos. They are beginning to become more frequent visitors here, though ours are white - and not always a very pure shade of that.

  9. These birds are beautiful! The pictures are amazing! Would be so pretty framed.

Cynthia, I so sorry about your cousin and her family (your last post). So thankful they are safe. I have thought about the people in California and that last horrible fire. It is heartbreaking. Makes me ashamed that I have ever complained about anything.
