Winter Solstice

Isn't it amazing

that as my part of the world turns to face east every morning

the sun is faithfully there?

Every single morning, for eons.

With no effort

No yearning

Not even a single tiny thought

On my part.

My mind could never conjure up such an idea

much less execute this way

To warm

To awaken

To illuminate

To nourish

the world.

I'm not even required to invite it.

It just comes, a gift.

Light.

Celebrating the winter solstice today, but not with my usual tradition of skiing and a bonfire. It's raining!

  4. Good Grief, Cynthia.

Have you been struck from above - the "Heavenly Guild of Poets" ???

Be careful jumping or whatever around that candle - it could fall off the table and
    cause a fire.

I hope that with our lovely sauna months here for 'summer' in Brisbane, that the "Heavenly Guild
of Poets" does not descend on me.
Still I suppose I always thought I would make a reasonable poet, eh????

Winter Solstice!!!! I think a stiff shot of a good Whiskey / Scotch ( either Scottish or Irish)
should normalise your situation - maybe a couple of shots to be on the safe side, eh?
    Cheers

  5. What an interesting photo! I love it! And I snuck a listen to Claudia's flute music while I read the rest of the comments. I listened to the entire clip. What a lovely musical gift for your solstice post.
