Old-Timey Hitching Post
Not exactly the same function (no one would steal your horse and carriage), but nice of the town to put them in for those of us who enjoy two-wheel transportation.
Looks like wood but it's metal. Imagine the cars invisible and a horse attached. New-Fangled Hitching Post

In my opinion is a great idea. As I know Americans don't use bikes very often is much popular type of transport in Europe.
ReplyDeleteAs the years go by my city is doing a bit more for the cyclists. I think this is long overdue here.
ReplyDeletechuckling here...fun post! :)
ReplyDeleteA great comparison there....lol
ReplyDeleteThis pole is not so safe for a bike, you can lift the bike up and it is free to take away....
ReplyDeleteI think a bike probably takes a lot less looking after than a horse!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend ahead and thanks for stopping by my blog this week.
'Hitching' I like that word. It sounds old fashioned. Both orse and cart and bicycles are better for the environment.
ReplyDeleteWould be nice if we had horses instead of the cars ! Unfortunately too slow for our modern life !
ReplyDeleteI forgot, Arthur thanks for the birthday wishes !
ReplyDeleteLol I like the metal post pretending to be wooden!
ReplyDeleteI thought maybe you got married!!!! Cute post (pun intended), you are lucky to live in a town where bike theft is not an issue... I see you have been to Nicaragua. We will be heading there soon, so if you have any places you think are a must see, please let me know!
