2015 Sculpture Exhibition at Honey Horn

I love sculpture.

Just before Christmas we took in the 2015 Public Art Exhibition at Honey Horn on Hilton Head Island. The sculptures were all outdoors in a beautiful setting, placed along a mile-long trail that meanders along the salt marsh edge, past farm buildings and marsh tacky horses, through the butterfly house and gardens, past the stately old home and the huge camellia garden that was just beginning to bloom.

I'm going to show you a few of my favorite pieces. I'll tell you tomorrow which one was chosen to stay at Honey Horn and the three top choices for The People's Choice awards.

  1. I would choose 'Setting Sun' and 'Hanging'

  2. Not being a lover, far less a judge of modern art, I guess I'd go
for the dynamic gymnasts - " The Love Arch".
Rather awkward positions, don't you think???
    Sorry - couldn't refrain.
    Cheers

  3. Not a big fan of modern sculpture, but of the group I prefer Bricked Orisha.

  4. Well, I like the love arch and theb. Now which one will they pick? I think Vita as it's shiny. It would rank close the bottom in my opinion. I'll be interested to see what happens.

  7. I like the Vita most, but they all look wonderful. To see the sculptures in the open air is always an extra treat. You can see them much better and walk around them.

  8. I choose Setting Sun. Fun to see what others picked. Been catching up and enjoyed reading about your trip home, seeing your family, and the trip back to South Carolina. Oh my, bet you two were glad to arrive home.

  9. Sorry I missed this post. I am playing catch up today. I like the brick head and the sunfloer. I did spot the photographer's reflection, but not until you mentioned it! Fun.
