The Winter Beach

The sun was shining and the temperature hit 65 this afternoon after a day of pouring rain yesterday.

The sea called; we had to go.

Folly Beach, Hilton Head Island

  1. Looks like the sea-gulls are having a fine time.
Not a surf for board or body surfers, eh?

  2. I've always loved the coast out of season. I wouldn't even worry too much about the temperature with scenes like this.

  4. Nice beach and a calm sea. The sand where the tide comes in looks coarse ...is it?

    1. It's millions of broken up seashells, crunchy when you walk on it.

  9. Oh my goodness! My heart skipped when I saw "Folly Beach". When I was growing up, my family spend two wonderful weeks there every summer. Some of my best memories are from Folly Beach. I've always wanted to go back and see if the cabin Daddy rented is still there.

  10. Your pictures have me missing my lake even more now. How nice it must be for you after cold winters to be able to enjoy the beaches in January.
